    I don’t think that question is self-explanatory. Since I’m beginning to suspect we’re doing your homework for you, I’m going to be somewhat vague. Are you asking for ideas like how women didn’t used to play wind instruments, or how the Catholic Church brought about modern classical music, or how woodwinds used to be the military instruments before brass bands (think fife and drum corps, but even the early oboes were used). check your local library for books in a series called [u]The Writer’s Guide to Everyday Life in…[/u] and check the chapters on music. Music has been a part of our history from the start. Native cultures often have really interesting ideas about music as well. Decide what you want to/are supposed to know about and then do some internet searches or library searches for the information.
