I've got all the instruments (guitars, drums, midi/electric keyboard, and microphone but it's a cheap one) and a computer with windows xp media center and a built in mic, but I need to know what programs are out there for about 50 dollars that'll work on windows xp and let my band record and edit music easily. We also need some pointers on what microphones and other stuff we'll need for most rock type music. and remember, only windows stuff. we don't want to have to buy an imac or their version of xp just to run garageband. we can do that at one of our friends' houses when we record @ really good quality.

I found a ipod 30gb classic over 6 months ago. No one ever claimed it so I gave it to my daughter. While there is music already on the ipod she would like to download more music to it. I was wondering if it is possible to but the equipment and be able to download and use the ipod. Can anyone help me with this?

i was just wondering are there any type of computer programs that you can use to edit or mix or record music at your home without spending a lot of money on studio equipment? and what type of equipment you should have?

I love music, but my mom is going to make me go through college before i make any career choices. I am only in 9th grade now, but i want to know where i'm going and have a general overview of it. I like to write song lyrics, i can play piano (somewhat) and i am beginning to learn how to read notes. Also i LOVE to sing but i get a little nervous in front of people. I know what i want my songs to sound like, i just don't have the equipment to produce a whole song. What could i work as (must be pay-well career) Thnx for the answers!

...to make your own music at home without thousands of dollars in expensive equipment. I'm also not very familiar with "midi" and stuff, so I'd rather a program that didn't require knowledge on how to use it. I'm thinking something similar to Magix Music Maker or Cakewalk Home Studio, but they confuse me. Any ideas?

My band needs to get several things to improve the quality of our music
We need :
: Sound Board/mixer :
: GREAT quality Microphone :
: Good synthesizer (preferably Roland V synth) :
: Drum Set ( preferably electric)
We have the skill and ideas, but the only thing is that
our recording equipment sucks.
our band member ages are 13 - 15. So we don't have enough money and we can't get jobs because we're to young.
That's the only thing that's holding us back. Our money issues.
The sound board/mixer is like $200 right there, for a good price
plus the microphone is another $100. We also need a drum set. Another $300 added up there. And then come the synthesizers... oh boy... well, we WANT a Roland V Synth GT, but those are around $3000!!! SO we might settle for a just basic synthesizer around $800.
But even still, that adds up to $1,400!
How are we supposed to get $1,400?
We're only teens. But we WANT this! This is what we've always wanted. to pursue our musical talents! HOW do we get the money for the equipment though?
PLEASE help us. I mean, not donating help us, but like give us some tips on $

My desktop pc in the study on the main floor, and my exercise equipment is in the basement. Now I usally transfer songs from my pc onto my mp3 player and use my tiny speakers to listen to the music. However, is there any way to be able to listen to the music from my pc directly without having to transfer it? Like, maybe speakers with a super long cord? Or bluetooth enabled speakers? Any suggestions?
